Tryouts Safety Guidelines


The health and safety of players, coaches and parents is our top priority as we return to the fields. We have partnered with local authorities and our soccer governing bodies to implement necessary steps for the safety of existing and future members.

GENERAL:

  • Every player will have their temperature taken and provided a wristband when cleared to enter the fields.
  • Sanitizer will be provided to ensure that attendants have clean hands.
  • Equipment will be cleaned and sanitized after each session.
  • Concessions will not be available. 
  • Benches will be cleaned every hour during tryouts. 
  • Wherever appropriate, ground markings will be used to promote social distancing.

COACH RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To ensure the health and safety of players in attendance.
  • Make inquiries about how the players are feeling and send them home if they show signs of or appear ill.
  • Follow all state and local health protocols.
  • Coaches or designated personnel are the only persons to handle any training equipment.
  • Direct and maintain social distance requirements for the players based on state and local health requirements.
  • Have fun, stay positive and encouraging – players and parents are looking to you as an example to remain calm, supportive, and caring during this time.
  • Coaches will not use bibs for scrimmages - all players will bring a light-colored and dark-colored shirt.

PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after training.
  • Bring and use hand sanitizer at tryout sessions.
  • Do not touch or share anyone’s equipment, water, snack, or bag.
  • Practice social distancing - place bags and equipment at least 6-feet apart.
  • Wash and sanitize all personal equipment before and after every training.
  • No group celebrations - no high 5’s - no hugs - no handshakes, etc.

PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure your child is healthy.
  • Remain in your vehicle or adhere to the social distance requirements. 
  • Based on state and local health requirements, when at tryouts, wear a mask if outside of your vehicle.
  • Ensure your child’s clothing is washed after every tryout session.
  • Notify the club immediately if your child becomes ill for any reason.
  • Be sure your child has the necessary hand sanitizer with them at every training.

CLUB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and distribute health and safety protocols to RPB members.
  • Ensure that every player gets their temperature taken and provide a wristband when cleared to enter the fields.
  • Be sensitive and accommodating to parents who may be uncomfortable with the return to play too quickly.
  • Train and educate all staff on health and safety protocols and requirements, including state and local regulations, CDC recommendations, and other necessary information.
  • Provide adequate field space for social distancing.
  • Provide hand sanitizer and waste receptacles at fields.
  • Develop relationships and dialog with local health officials.
